"I was driving over a bridge in Dublin and caught a glimpse of this view. Later that evening I made my way back and wasn't disappointed.

If you have ever been right under Croke park, there is a wonderous sense of scale and height with concrete and steel balanced beautifully up into the sky. Under this vaulted masterpiece runs the quiet calm water of the canal below where people wander with their dogs and enjoy the nature that makes this place their home.

This quietness is in stark contrast to my own experiences of the big day out in Croke park for a match or a concert, where the walk up to the stadium is where the excitement begins to hit fever pitch. I used colour and scale to capture this contrast and through  building up a range of colours and lines into the starry sky above.
The Poolbeg Chimneys sit behind, quietly grounding the view in Dublin Bay."
