Simms' Shelter Sunset- Barry McAdam
"Atop an old lead mine lies one of the most magical of the Simms' Shelters. Where the others protect from wind, this one was designed to keep you dry in the rain. Most of my other pieces capture the point where the sunset is at its greatest, however I thought it would seem dreamier to capture the light and the sky as twilight sets in. The last rays of the day illuminate the shelter and its simple concrete columns dramatically against the Poolbeg Chimneys and Dublin port cranes in the distance. Greens, reds complement the pink filled clouds capturing the evening's crepuscular charm".
