Sunset, Grattan Bridge Dublin - Barry McAdam

Around Grattan Bridge Dublin feels wonderfully European, from the Art Deco of the Clarence hotel to the Florentine arches and red roof of the Sunlight Chambers.  Behind these we are grounded with old Dublin from Christchurch to the City Hall.  The other-worldly hippocampus lamps on Grattan Bridge are central to the composition. For a piece to work well, using the same colour really carefully can give a sense of space and interest.  To achieve this the greens feature throughout and unify all of the elements.  The curve perspective used in the bridge gives the Liffey space to ebb and flow below the city above.
